Welcome to the Fits of Print Writing Forums! We are a writer's forum run by writers (and...say it with me now) for writers. Whether you writer fanfic, poetry, nonfiction, sci-fi, dystopian stuff, romance, war, fantasy, black comedy--you name it, we want to read it!
This is a place for writers (and aspiring writers, and people who've never scribbled a sentence for entertainment or edification) to grow their audience, get feedback and constructive criticism--all for free.
We are here to build a community of supportive and innovative writers. Please, come on in. The water is just fine.
The quick and dirty:
You DO HAVE TO:
Sign up (which requires the following:)
-An email address
-An username
-Password
If this seems pedantic and a touch obvious, I would counter that it's better to be specific than vague in your set-up processes.
At any rate having done that, it would probably behoove you to introduce yourself--make a thread and throw down some words about yourself. Schmooze around a little--start a few new threads, message people directly.
Post that chapter of a novel you've always wondered about--or write a short story and post it. Follow the threads if you like, or post something you are considering sending out for publication but just want a few eyes on anyway.
We're pretty laid back, as a group. Our language can be analytical or informal, depending on the context. But here are some things that we, as a group simply won't tolerate in posts (fiction is different than the person writing it after all--every stories need villains and reprehensible characters after all) and will be met with the swift wrath of the BANHAMMER:
- Threats of any kind. Short version: don't be a prick.
- Prejudice (sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia etc.)
- Criticism without a suggestion on how to improve the aspect of the work that troubles you.
For more on the forums, the members and contests, feel free to look around! See you on the interwebs and hope to read your work soon!
